The Company

Central Databank was founded in 2001 with the aim of being the biggest online backup service provider in the country. We are an Irish based trade-only online backup service provider. We deploy and manage industry leading infrastructure and tools to enable our reseller partners to offer online backup services to their clients.

The People

Dermot Mooney, CEO

dermot2 thumb About CDB Although based primarily in Ireland, Dermot has spent the last 20 years in international sales and marketing roles, developing market access for products and services into USA, the European Union, Japan and Australia. He has worked at a board level in a range of projects in manufacturing, professional services and b2b service providers. He was a founding partner of access2.com, an online research and consultancy back-office start-up and he is a director of Intelligence 4 Trade, Ltd. As CEO, Dermot is spearheading Central Databank’s overall development.

Gary Pigott, CTO

Gary has a software engineering and web development background. Having started his career with AST Computer, he moved into a number of engineering roles in software development and Linux/Unix server management. He comes to Central Databank from Orlogix, a software publisher specialising in backup and data migration. Gary leads Central Databank’s technical efforts.

Pierre Guillery, CMO

Pierre has a broad-based understanding of Internet-induced changes in the business environment. He has done process and operational marketing consultancy with blue chip and telecommunication clients as well as business development for smaller technology companies looking to enter the French and European markets. He was also a founding partner of access2.com. Pierre coordinates the marketing of Central Databank services to our resellers, and looks into the future and how online storage can change the way people work.

Ciaran Linnane, non-executive director

Ciaran is a member of the founding investment group that set up Central Databank back in 2001. An engineer, although Irish, grew up in Zimbabwe (when it was called Rhodesia). He is an avid supporter of the online services space, particularly online backup. He continues to work closely with the management team of Central Databank.
